Okay, so we’re like really good friends right?
And if there was a seriously awesome home decor store in existence you would totally tell me about it right?
So how is it that you have never mentioned West Elm to me before???
You have failed me as a friend.
It’s all good.
I forgive you.
Chances are that like me you didn’t have one near you… until now!
That’s right my friends, West Elm has tome to SLC.
(aka Salt Lake City.)
So last night I got to kick it with a lot of cool locals and check out the new West Elm store at City Creek. The store did not disappoint.
Hey, you know how a lot of home decor/DIY bloggers are always decorating with these cute little decorative glass bowls???
Turns out they are from West Elm.
One of my favorite home decor items throughout the store were these adorable owls.
Colored owls. Metallic owls. Owl mugs. owl iPhone covers.
My sister-in-law LOVES owls.
I almost bought her a set of owl measuring cups.
But then I got all self-absorbed and spent all my money on myself.
Ugh. Hate it when that happens.
Friends, you would seriously die over the displays in this store.
I swear I cried ombre tears of joy.
Yes, I had rainbow tears.
There is so much incredible inspiration in this store. Don’t be surprised if someday soon you see me attempting this barn wood ceiling in my house. Love it!
One of my favorite things about the store was learning how West Elm has created a partnership with Etsy, and sells and features a collection of decorative accessories made by local artisans in the Salt Lake City area. I actually recognized several of the Etsy artists that I had met during Bijou Market, so it was so fun to see them represented at West Elm.
The Salt Lake City location is the first store that West Elm has infused an Etsy collection and I hope they do it in more stores. It is such a great way to unite the local creative community!
Oh my goodness, I could go on for hours about this store. And the mercury glass. And the linens.
If you want to check out West Elm at City Creek, it opens TODAY!!!
If you get a chance you really must go.
If you want to see a sneak peek at what I purchased in the store, be sure to follow me on Instagram HERE. Here’s a hint: They are round, and you eat cereal in them!
Okay, okay. I bought some bowls.
Thanks West Elm for letting me come check out the store! Oh, and please just ignore me if you see me back on opening day. And the day after. And so on and so forth.
Disclaimer: I was not financially compensated for writing this post. I did receive a gift card to do some personal shopping. All opinions are my own. And I don’t even know why you are reading this when you should be in the car on your way to West Elm. Like, right now. And don’t forget to tell me what you found. ‘Cause you owe me one for never telling me about this store.
