Oh my goodness gracious, my kitchen is almost done!
Here’s what we have accomplished in the last week:
I added beadboard to the island, and also to the sides of the exposed cabinets.
The 4 1/2 inch molding was a pain in the butt to cut with an angle, but by golly I got her done!
Our desk in our kitchen has this funky angled support.
I was going to leave it as is, but it was seriously giving me 90’s nightmares.
I ended up adding beadboard to the side, and cut an angled board to fill the space. I backed the other side with masonite, and used a piece of 1″ trim to finish off the front.
This was totally a last minute make it up as you go kind of project, but I am so glad I did it. It looks sooo much better now.
We are having professionals spray the cabinets, but they are not painting the insides. Since we have a few cabinets with glass doors, I painted the insides white to match. I am NOT painting the insides of all the cabinets. Just the ones that will show through the glass doors.
Here’s how the cabinets looked last weekend all taped up and ready for paint. Hooray!
The painters did a fabulous job, and I can’t wait to tell you more when I show the big reveal.
We are not done yet… we are still without the cabinet drawer and door fronts.
They should be done getting painted in the next few days, so hopefully we will have a finished kitchen by this weekend.
We are also still finishing up with installing new appliances too. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Wish me luck… the kids are absolutely done with the kitchen being so chaotic, and I am absolutely done with having to say, “Just a few more days!”
Final update coming soon! In just a few more days.
