Front Living Room Update

A few weeks ago Mr. Wright forwarded me an email from his company announcing a surplus auction.

Um… hello. That’s my middle name.

So of course I went, and of course I took my mother along because as some of you know, that’s her middle name too.

Long story short, we got a little carried away.

In my defense I only bought one thing.

(Though in actuality I bid on many.)

My mother bid on many items, and it turns out she won them all.

Oops.

Just picture the two of us jumping up and down with excitement. Our husbands… not so much.

At the auction it was a tad difficult to see the items in their entirety. Everything was wrapped up tight on a pallet. My mother and I saw it as Christmas morning and everything inside, once unwrapped, would be a surprise!  Again the husbands were not as excited.

Anywho, here is the before shot of what I brought home:

And here it is now residing in my front room:

I paid $200 for this beauty. I felt like the price was a tad high as my mother got several similar pieces for a lot less. But I fell in love with those lovely drawers and knew it had to be mine.

The bottom cupboards didn’t come with shelves so I had some wood cut at Home Depot and just stained it dark since i didn’t want to deal with trying to match the color.

Here is a shot of the entire front room:

If you follow me on Facebook you will remember me sharing my latest Overstock Outlet find as well… my new orange chair! (You can view it online HERE.)

I really love how this room is shaping up.

On my to do list is curtains, and some wall sconces next to the shelves. Oh, and a little greenery on the shelves too. I am still working on tweaking those a bit anyway.

That’s it for now! To visit the rest of my home tour go HERE.
