This is the story of my earbuds that made me very angry as they were always getting tangled everywhere I went.
So I bought embroidery floss in my favorite shades of green.
Then I remembered I really didn’t like green.
And then I realized I liked Wal-Mart even less, and didn’t want to go back so I stuck it out with the green.
If you ever made a friendship bracelet back in the old days you already totally know how to do this.
I did the “Chinese Staircase” stitch and it’s super duper easy. I followed the tutorial found here. ‘Tis a good one.
I started with about 1/2 yard of each color and alternated when it ran out.
I think I like green after all.
I did use a little bit of clear nail polish to tidy up the loose ends each time I changed colors. I also made sure to leave the volume control and mic clear of thread.
I love how they turned out and especially love that they never get tangled anymore!
I’ve already started to do this to my vacuum cord.
Hahahaha!
Just kidding.
Maybe.

Hi, cool project! I’ve been searching for a tutorial to make my headphones like that.. but I have one question concerning the knot ends. As I see in the pictures the ends can’t be seen and are fairly smooth, and I was hoping you would elaborate it further more.
Thanks in advance!
