*This is another blast from the past post from my old crafting blog*
There is this adorable shop on Etsy called The Black Apple.
You might have heard of it. You might not have.
Either way, it’s one of my all time favorites.
This cute girl named Emily paints and sews, and sells her wares in her little (actually quite big) shop.
Well, one day she appeared on Martha Stewart and decided to share her doll pattern with the world.
I know, I told you she is super cute.
So I downloaded the pattern, and then made a billion dolls.
Turns out making dolls isn’t so hard!
I started out with just felt eyes, then got a little more creative with the faces.
(Twilight doll!)
Then I made this doll with a mouth who can eat different plastic animals. Any guesses as to who she is?
I don’t know why she swallowed a fly. Perhaps she’ll die!
Then I decided to swap out the legs for fins…
Mermaids!
I seriously made like a billion dolls.
Okay, this is going to totally sound weird, but…
There is something really cool about birthing a doll.
(I knew that would come across wrong.)
It’s that part where you have sewn all the pieces together, and then you turn it right side out.
There she is! She’s been born!
A little stuffing, and a little stitching and she’s done.
I’d much rather birth more dolls than babies.
Not that I don’t love my babies.
Trust me.
They would much rather have a new doll too.
Here’s the pattern below. You can view the original article on Martha Stewart, complete with instructions, here.

I love handmade dolls. We made a bunch of yarn dolls but I think your dolls are cuter!
