Once upon a time I started a blog all about my family.
Then I started a blog all about my crafting.
Then I started a blog all about my photography.
Then I started a blog for my book club, baking club, photo club, volunteer work, and for some insane reason, another blog about photography.
Then my brain exploded.
Now I post all my crap here.
You’re welcome.
These are sewing projects I posted about foreeeever ago on my crafting blog. I deleted the crafting blog, but still value some of my old work, so over the next few days I will be posting a few of my old projects here.
These photos are old. I take better pictures now, but I suppose that’s better than saying these old photos are better than what I take now.
Anywho, I am not including a tutorial. That is because the original tutorial is not mine to copy, but only to share. This is a very easy way to make your own purse, and you can find the link here.
If you have never made a purse before, go slow. And use interfacing. (It’s the white iron stuff that stiffens your cotton fabric.)
Here are my samples:
Okay, I cheated on that last one. I didn’t use that pattern. I just made it up from a pillow that I took apart. It turned out cute so I am throwing it in here anyway.
I don’t think I have ever regularly worn a purse that wasn’t handmade. If I don’t make it myself, I buy it at a boutique. I am currently using a purse I bought from Hayden J on Etsy. This is what it looks like:

It is a lovely, well made bag, with white piping and several inside pockets.
Just envision mine with the wear and tear four kids would bring to the table.
Are you brave enough to sew your own purse? Have a favorite handmade brand you want to share? Wish you could use an adorale handmade purse instead of a bulky diaper bag covered in spit-up and good intentions?
