Ready to make Darin’s absolute favorite light fixture from Studio 5? What can I say… that guy has good taste!
Here’s what you need to make the Christmas ornament light fixture:
-3 dozen Christmas ornaments – Hobby Lobby sells these year round in the glassware section.
- String
- Hot Glue Gun
- Ikea HEMMA light
- LED light bulb
- Clamp
The first thing you want to do is clamp your light cord to a surface that allows it to hang while you work. I just set a chair on top of my work table.
Next start tying varying length of string or yarn to your ornaments.
Attach each ornament to your light cord. I started tying knots about twelve inches above the light bulb.
When you are done you end up with a knotted mess at the top, so use additional string to wrap the top until it looks aesthetically pleasing.
I like saying aesthetically pleasing.
I dunno why. But I say it often.
That’s it! Just find a lovely place to hang it and you’re done.
When plugged it, the light inside really lights up the whole fixture.
And the LED bulb is perfectly safe since it doesn’t get hot.
I just love how it looks at night!
I can’t wait to hang it up in my girls room!
