My sister and I scored some seriously awesome vintage buttons at a yard sale a few weeks ago.
The person selling them wanted about a nickel a button, so she and I spent almost 45 minutes meticulously picking out our favorites.
Then the seller got tired of us in his driveway and sold us a whole gallon size ziplock bag for $5.
I just might have shed a few tears of joy.
This is just a small sampling of what I scored…
I know, I am crying too.
This will likely not be my only post on buttons. But I will try to spread it out so you don’t get sick of them, ‘nkay?
And if you have any ideas (besides the one’s I have pinned here) send them my way.
Here’s how I made my button bookmarks:
You need two things, besides your buttons. First you need some seriously strong glue. 5 minute epoxy is ideal.
It’s scary how often I use this stuff.
And accidentally glue my fingers to my shirt.
Next you need paperclips. These super cute Smash Clips are available here.
If the buttons have large shanks you will want to remove them with pliers. If they don’t you are good to go.
After mixing your glue add a small dab to the back of each button and then attach the paperclip.
5 minute epoxy really does set in five minutes. You need to give it a few extra hours to fully dry though.
Here’s how they look when finished…
Awwwww! So stinkin’ cute.
If only I still had time to read books.
And belonged to a book club.
Well, I guess I do belong to a book club.
But we don’t read books. We just go out for ice cream and call it “book club.”
It really is the only way to read books.
