Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet

If you remember my post last year on our Angry Birds Blue and Gold Banquet you know I have a deep passion for supporting the Boy Scouts of America.

Bahahahaha!

Okay, I do like Boy Scouts, but if my church Bishop didn’t ask me to help out I am pretty sure I would run in the opposite direction.

Anywho, this year our Cubmaster yet again came up with a brilliant game plan. Plants Versus Zombies!

I wil admit we had a few parents who thought zombies hanging from balloons was a bit quizzical, but we had the same strange looks last year with bird balloons everywhere.

The boys got it. That’s all that matters, right?

I was working with a much smaller budget this year but took on the challenge by mostly keeping the decor pretty simple.

The boys absolutely loved it.

If you are familiar with the game you will understand the balloon zombie.

If you don’t know the game, then yes, it is weird.

We served hot dogs, veggies, and chips for dinner. (Small budget remember?)

For the game the Cubmaster picked up marshmallow guns for the kids to shoot at zombie heads attached to bells. It was a big hit! We also put down a section of green poster board on the floor to look like grass.

In addition, we had Plants Versus Zombies coloring pages on the tables which can be found here. I also found the Zombie for the balloons at that same link, and just colored it in Photoshop before printing it.

That’s it! Super simple. Super creepy. Perfect for boys!

Love this! Tyson came up while I was looking at it and informed me what all the different zombies are…apparently I’m a little behind the times, lol.
