Artist Feature – Jonathan Linton

When visiting a book store in downtown Salt Lake City a few weeks ago, there happened to be an artist painting and promoting his work.

I am a sucker for any type of in-store self-promotion.

When I see an author at Costco promoting a book, I buy the book. I don’t know if it’s the fact that they sit at a card table all day, or that I really want that signed copy. Either way, I’m gonna buy it.

The things about artists, even though it’s so cool to watch them paint, chances are the originals and prints are waaaay out of my price range.

Not so with Jonathan Linton. His fine art prints and custom original paintings are very reasonable.

When I saw this print, I just had to have it.

Doesn’t that totally look like something I would put in my home?

See, I didn’t just need to buy this print, I had to.

(Come on friends, you are supposed to help me justify my necessary purchases.)

Since Jonathan was promoting his work in-store, he was selling this watercolor giclee print for only $40.

Nice!

Plus he was very charming.

That always helps.

And he has four kids.

See! We were destined to be friends.

(He’s going to think I am very creepy if he ever reads this.)

I bought the 12″x16″ open edition print, and framed it immediately for my kitchen.

Want to see how it looks?

‘Course you do.

Don’t mind the fam watching TV in the background.

Apparently they did not  feel like moving out of the way just for me to snap a picture.

I know, the nerve, right?

And here’s how it looks up close.

Told ya is was destined to live in my home.

If you want to learn more about Jonathan Linton, go here.

Feel free to tell him some creepy girl in Utah wrote all about his charming personality on her blog.

I dare ya. :)
